No, this is Portuguese Corn Bread.
No mechanical mixers or dough hooks were involved in the making. Only a large bowl and a wooden spoon (which I also used as a stencil with a dusting of polenta before the final prove), and a pair of hands for the stirring and kneading.
Beneath the hard crust lies a beautifully textured moist crumb.
