Hamlet Loaf.
Four neighbouring Cottage Loaves all neatly joined at the hip.
I had intended to call this a Mansion Loaf (refer to my recently baked Townhouse Loaf), but seeing four little cottages huddled together, it had to be called a Hamlet. It just didn’t look grand and imposing enough to inspire the name Mansion.
While considering this creation as I peered through the glass oven door, I started to envisage a three-cottage, or even a five-cottage Hamlet. I have to draw a line there as I don’t think even my tardis of a domestic oven would quite accommodate a sixer or more!
Mind you, I do believe there’s a ‘tear-apart’ rolls idea coming on. That’ll be a Village of Cottage Rolls please! I’m on to it.
